Update playgrounds to be more special needs friendly 4.78/5 (9)

We are a proud Park Slope Family with a four year old son who has cerebral palsy.

The special needs swing at JJ Byrne park has been a great joy for him. However we’ve noticed lately that the front bar comes loose.

Wanted to alert you of this and also suggest another option.

JennSwing as seen in this picture related to the Pier 25 playground is a great option:

May I also suggest adding another special needs swing to the big kid swing area. As our son grows older it would be nice for him to have a swing option where he can play amongst his peers.

In general it would be awesome to see at least one special needs swing at every playground in Brooklyn as well as other special needs playground adaptions other than swings.

Happy to lead the charge and even help fund raise if needed on this one.
