Solar on schools 4.93/5 (14)

Lots of schools in the district have large flat roofs which could accommodate solar panels. High schools like Millennium or Brooklyn Collaborative could support solar on the roof and tie in curriculum about renewable engineering to inspire the students. Brooklyn Collaborative has a Climate Change class as well
as a green engineering class for upper grades (I’m sure other schools might have something similar). The solar panels would start to return on investment in ~3 years (general estimate) and panels on the roof also extend the life of the physical roofing underneath. After ROI the school district would receive income from sale of power.
